Dear SPE members and oil and gas professionals!

Another SPE Moscow section monthly meeting took place on January, 20.

Mike Zuber, Technical Advisor from Schlumberger in Asia Area, presented 'Tight Coalbed Methane A Giant Worldwide Resource: How do we Produce it? (Challenges and Solutions)'.

'Tight CBM is a vast resource and historically it was developed in high permeability coals with 'low tech', however more of this resource can be unlocked via modern technologies (improved reservoir description for finding sweet spots, horizontal drilling for improving recovery), development of new technologies will improve recoverability in the long-term perspective.'  - Mike said.

Another pleasant surprise – after the lecture the Distinguished Lecturer selected best questions and awarded SPE presents.

January presentation was held within the DL Program.
